Have you children ever dreamed of riding in a hot air balloon before? Do you dream of this in fiction books? A boy almost rode in a hot air balloon when it floated away after being released from its tether on the ground. The balloon looked like a silver colored spinning UFO in the sky. It maybe the first time something this dramatic happened outside Children fiction Books

This story is not the stuff of fiction books but it really happened. It is a coincidence that this happened so soon after Disney’s movie “Up” was released in 2009.

Falcon Heene, a six year old boy, was thought to be on board his father’s homemade hot air or helium balloon when it floated away. One of his elder brothers told their father, Richard Heene, that Falcon had floated away in the balloon.

The balloon was spinning around as it flew through the sky. Ground authorities hadn’t the faintest idea what to do to safely bring the runaway balloon down. They called the aviation authorities to ask for help. The watchers of the sky sent small, light aircraft up to track and help bring the balloon down.

Eventually, after 2 hours, the homemade balloon, designed to gather data in the eye of a storm, came down on the ground of its own accord. Falcon Heene was not inside the balloon, nor could he be found in the areas where the balloon had traveled over.

Another two hours later, Falcon Heene was found hiding in the attic of his home. There was no boy in the balloon that floated away. Falcon’s brother was mistaken in seeing him getting into the compartment box of the balloon. Maybe Falcon managed to get out of the hot air balloon before it floated up into the sky. Hs brother had run inside the house to tell their father that falcon was inside the box-like structure attached to the balloon. This brother couldn’t have seen if Falcon was really inside the balloon.

Falcon Heene lives in Denver, Colorado. Falcon has two older brothers, Bradford Heene, 9, Royo Heene, 8,. His parents are Richard Heene and Mayumi Heene. His father is a storm chaser and the entire family chases after storms.
