Children Fiction Books present a short story on Kindness. A little kindness goes a long way. Children can learn kindness and adopt it as a way of life to make living gracious for another person. It only takes a spark to get the fire of kindness going. This is a true story for Children Fiction Books.
I was on the subway, at around 5 pm. The trains were crowded but I managed to get a seat. It wasn’t packed as tight as sardines in a tin can yet. The male teen on my right had music blaring from his headphones and he was nodding off in slumber. How can people sleep with music blasting into the ear drums? It was really loud and leaking. I could hear the blaring and that was how loud his music volume had been turned up to.
The train collected people at each stop along the way. At one station, an elderly man got in. There wasn’t any available vacant seat so he stood, hanging on to the overhead pole for support. A young man got up from his seat and tapped the older man on his shoulder. The young guy motioned to the older man to sit.
To everyone’s surprise, the old man, whose hair was white, peppered with silver strands, asked, “Do you need the seat?” Imagine being elderly and refusing a seat. Both males were being gentlemanly and may be a bit macho.
The young man insisted with, “I’m getting down soon.” With this, he won over the old man and the senior gentleman thanked him and sat down.
The young man showed me that a little kindness goes a long way. The older man showed me that it was always chivalrous to place other before self. Both men were awesome.
