Children Fiction Books has a story on a Zhu Zhu Pet. I received an early Christmas gift for 2009. My Mom gave me my present early because I was very bored and had no new toys to play with. I decided to write a review for my Zhu Zhu Pet here in Children Fiction Book and call it a non fiction post.

Zhu Zhu Pet Nugget and Skateboard & U-Turn.

My Zhu Zhu Pet is named Nugget. In the UK, a Zhu Zhu Pet is also known as a Go Go Hamster. Nugget is yellow-orange in color with a yellow body and ears a shade darker in yellow or orange. Nugget has a pink nose/ snout. Nugget has a couple of whiskers on each side of the cheeks. The cheek pouches are white. Nugget is a big, motorized hamster that runs on two batteries. When Nugget scampers, the little rump shakes and it looks cute. Nugget is the size of a big hamster. Actually Nugget is the size of a guinea pig.

Nugget has at least two censors on its back. When Nugget’s posterior is depressed, it says something exclaimation in Zhu Zhu hamster language.

Every Zhu Zhu Pet comes programmed with its own vocabulary and language.

When a Zhu Zhu Pet is down on its side, it lacks the ability to get upright again. It says “Yeow”, “What’s that?” or something when it runs up against an obstacle. Nugget will try to overcome an obstacle if it faces one but if it isn’t able to succeed, it will turn itself off.

When Nugget is pressed on top of its head, it will chatter and say “Oh!”. If Nugget is pressed on its rump, it will say a funny exclamation like a chirping sound.

Nugget can say something like “Hello”and has its own vocabulary which is distinct from the other Zhu Zhu Pets.

Nugget will scamper all across the floor in its adventure mode. This mode is activated when I press the center of Nugget’s back, on a symbol that is embossed on its fur. Nugget knows how to backtrack, reverse and head in another direction when it encounters an obstacle. Nugget will say “What’s that?” before heading off in a new direction. Then Nugget says, “Roll away, roll away”.

When Nugget comes up against a raised obstacle, it will try to mount over it. Nugget could never go over the raised level but it could glide along sideways, along the length of the raised level. Nugget looked cute like a ballet dancer on two legs, moving sideways.

If Nugget fails to clear an obstacle, it may lose its balance and fall to its side. Then Nugget will try to struggle with its motor running. If after several squeaks it doesn’t get up, Nugget will switch off and conserve its power.

Mom bought me the “SK8board and U-Turn”. It is for Nugget to ride the SK8board anywhere on its adventure mode. There is a curved U-Turn ramp. Nugget loves to ride the sk8board but it moves slower when it tried to navigate the U-turn on the sk8board.

Sometimes, Nugget needs a little help to get past the bend on the U-Turn. Well, Nugget is a little chubby and could do with the exercise.

I keep Nugget in its box when have finished playing with it. I’m supposed to buy a blanket and carrier bag for Nugget but that would have to wait until my next trip to the toy store.

Previously, it was thought that the nose of the Zhu Zhu Pet contained a high level of antimony than recommended but the standard of measurement has since been called crude and unreliable. People were told to assume that the Zhu Zhu Pet (or Go Go Hamster) was safe for use.

I love my Zhu Zhu Pet Nugget. I would recommend a Zhu Zhu Pet for Christmas or for any occasion.
